1. Turn dials and align the opening combination inside the side windows.



2. Pull up the shackle and turn 90 degrees counter-clockwise to align the projection on the shackle with the notch at the 90 degree position of the lock body.



3. Press the shackle down and turn the shackle further counter-clockwise so that the shackle will stay at that position.



4. Turn the dials to reset the combination.



5. Turn the shackle back to the 90 degree notch and pull out the shackle.



6. Reset complete.

1. Spin the numbered dials so that the setting reads “000.” Slide the Hartmann nameplate to the right. The word OPEN should be visible. Open your case and look at the back of the lock to locate the setting lever.



2. The setting lever protrudes from the angled opening on the back lock. Remove the protective washer and keep it so that you can replace it after the combination has been set.



3. Push the setting lever to the side and them up until it stops. The private combination is now ready to be set. Spin the numbered dials to the desired combination setting.



4. Flip the setting lever back into its original position. Replace the protective washer.



5. Close your case and slide the Hartmann nameplate to the left. Spin the numbered dials to any setting.



6. The case is now locked. Note: the numbered dials will not rotate when the case is open unless the lock is being set.

1. Spin the numbered dials so that the setting reads “0 – 0.” Remove the protective washer from beneath the black “change” button which is located to the left of the Hartmann nameplate. Discard the washer.


2. Slide the black “change” button up until it stops.


3. Spin the numbered dials to the desired combination setting.


4. Slide the black button back to its original position. Spin the numbered dials to any setting.


5. Your Hartmann case is now set to open only with your personal combination.

(If purchased after May 1, 2005)

1. With the lock open, push the button in the direction of the arrow and hold in this position.



2. Set the number wheels to desired combination (e.g. 5 7).



3. Release button.



4. Note the combination.

1. Spin the numbered dials so that the setting reads “000.”



2. Push the button toward the numbered dials and spin the dials to the desired combination.



3. Release the button. The combination is now set. Spin the dials to any other setting to lock the case.



4. The lock will open only when the set combination is dialed and the button is pushed in the opposite direction of the dials.

1. Push the button down following the arrow and keep it in that position to set the new combination.



2. Turn the dials to the desired combination.



3. Release the button.



4. The lock can now be opened with the new combination.

1. With the lock open, push the button.



2. Set numbered wheels to desired combination.



3. Release the button.

1. To reset the opening combination, turn the dials to the opening combination (0-0).



2. Press the button all the way and hold at that position.



3. Turn the dials to the desired numbers.



4. Release the button.

1. Turn the dials and align the numbers to 0-0-0 so they are clearly visible inside the "windows."



2. Pull up the shackle and turn it 90 degrees counterclockwise to align the projection on the shackle with the notch on the lock body



3. Press the shackle down firmly and turn the shackle further 90 degrees counterclockwise so it is fixed at a position



4. Now turn the dials to reset your combination



5. Return the shackle back to the original position. Your personal combination is now ready to use.
